Watching TV is Dangerous For Your Health

A new study has shown that watching television for long periods of time can significantly increase the risk of dying from all natural causes. Dr. Alpa Patel led the study which showed that the risk is increased for both men and women who sit for long periods of their leisure time in front of the TV.

However, the study published several days ago does not suggest that by cutting down TV time that people can prolong life. Australian researchers reported similar results from their study which was published recently.

The study from Australia which was published in January of this year suggested that people that spend a lot of their free time by sitting in front of the TV significantly increase their chances of dying from cardiovascular related illnesses and all other causes of death. The studies are set to worry a few people.

The majority of the general population spends a lot of their free time watching television either by themselves or with other people.

Although the studies offer up some worrying statistics, it is important to remember that the study does not prove that by lessening the time spent watching television that you can lessen the chance of dying earlier.

The study does show some interesting results. However, there are many similar studies that suggest similar results. The study also suggested that increasing exercise and diet would not make a difference to the statistics.
