Socializing & Longer Life

Socializing & Longer Life – A new study has shown that maintaining strong social connections with friends and family could help you live longer. The same is said about socializing with work colleagues and neighbors. The study shows that you can increase your chances of survival by a huge fifty percent by maintaining these connections. The study also revealed that not socializing can be even more harmful than not exercising and obesity.

According to researchers, the study shows that family and friends can have an influence on a person’s health. They added that the research shows that people will benefit form maintaining healthy relationships throughout their whole lives. It also shows that not only can healthy relationships benefit physical health, but they can also benefit a persons metal well being. This proves that social networking sites are not always a good idea. Many people are substituting real life relationships for online ones.

Of course, this is not healthy. By using social networking sites many people are finding that this is the only way that they actually contact friends, family, and colleagues, meaning that no face to face interaction is actually involved. This is not only damaging to psychological health, but also to a persons physical health as the study has shown. Hopefully more people will take note now the dangers have been demonstrated and they will make more of an effort to interact with people face to face rather than over the internet all of the time.
